Player-coach June 1992 to October 1993
Appearances 10 (League 9)
Goals 6 (pen 1) (League 6 (pen 1))
Appointed as coach by Lyndon Lynch for the Club's debut season, and came out of retirement to score the winner in a charity match at East Ham United. Made his comeback - unbeknown to his girlfriend, who didn't want him to start playing again and thought he was out at work - as part of a potent attacking triumvirate with Micky Ross and Shaun Adams. Famously took the opportunity of a break in play in a game at home to Maldon Town, to berate the Romford supporters who had been verbally abusing John Simmonds from the terrace. Had to retire again in October however due to injury, which at least meant he didn't have to fib to his girlfriend any more.
