Biography
Appearances 111 (League 71)
Goals 28 (League 17)
Inspirational skipper who joined as part of the McGovern/Marson ex-Collier Row influx. Weighed in with several vital goals from defence and midfield in the Essex Senior League double season, and particularly in the following season's ICIS League Division Two championship with five headed goals in the final week, including a hat-trick in the title clincher. Universally known as Plank, his larger-than-life personality on and off the field meant Boro fans loved him as much as the opposition's hated him! Struggled to impose himself in Division One, although it still came as a surprise when he was released in October 1997. Spent a few months at Ford United and returned to Romford late in the season to turn out for the reserves, and played in the following pre-season for both first and reserve teams before re-joining Les Whitton at Barkingside, where he incurred a fifteen-monnth suspension for waving his manhood at the crowd.
