Made an isolated appearance for Lyndon Lynch in 1994 before joining Bowers United. Followed Steve Wheeler to Romford, and was called up from the reserves for occasional first team duty three years later and even made the no. 12 shirt his own. Finally got a run in the side when Wheeler became first team manager. Had a penalty saved at Molesey but compensated in the next match with a scorching (and wind-assisted) free-kick to give a scratch Boro team the lead at a full-strength Canvey Island.
