On a wet evening at Dagenham & Redbridge FC’s Victoria Road ground, Romford Under 19 added the Essex Alliance league Division Four Cup to the league title that they won in March with a 3-0 win over Emerson & Upminster Reserves.

On another day it might have been more than three goals for Boro, who created but missed a hatful of chances.

Boro had the ball in the net after just five minutes but Lewis Gardener’s headed goal was ruled out for offside, but just three minutes later, Boro had one that counted when Caspar Saletenik scored with a low shot.

There were plenty of opportunities for Romford to increase their lead in the first half, but when they were not narrowly missing the target, they were denied by good goalkeeping.

The second half continued the pattern with Boro carving out chances that they didn’t take, but after 59 minutes they deservedly doubled their lead when Bilal Adegbite headed home from a corner. It was 3-0 and game over after 61 minutes when Bradley Mott scored from close range.
